Our standards
The standards we hold ourselves to
There is no licence for computer and phone repair, so we publish our own standards, and every one is written into our terms, on top of your rights in law.
Eleven standards
On every job, with where each one is written down.

A free first opinion, and a price, first
Tell us the fault in a message and we will tell you what it sounds like, whether it is worth doing and whether we can fix it over a remote link. That first opinion is free. Before anyone travels we tell you what the repair is likely to cost: a fixed price where the fault and the model make it clear, or an honest estimate where we need to see the machine. If, once we have seen the machine, the fixed price is higher than our estimate, or the fault is not the one we priced, we tell you why before doing anything, and you can say no and pay only the call-out.
-
A £50 call-out, agreed before we travel
A visit has a £50 call-out, the same wherever we come out to, agreed before we travel. It is the first £50 of your job, not an extra on top: if you go ahead, it is part of the price you pay, and if you do not, it is all you pay, because it covers the journey and the time spent finding the fault. A £50 hold on your card confirms the visit: nothing is taken unless we come out, and we release it if you cancel before we set off or we cannot make the visit. If you are not there at the time we agreed and we cannot reach you, the call-out is payable, unless you cancelled before our on-our-way message.
-
One fixed price before any work
No hourly meter. We do not start until you have agreed the price in writing, by text or email.
-
No Fix, No Fee on the repair
If we cannot fix the fault we quoted for, you do not pay for that repair. The call-out, and any priority fee you asked for, is still payable.
-
Genuine parts, and only the parts you agreed
Genuine parts wherever one is available for your model, and if only a compatible part is available, the quote says so. We never remove or swap a working part, and you can have your old parts if you ask, except a damaged or swollen battery, which we dispose of safely.
-
Nothing goes elsewhere without your say-so
Soldered charging and HDMI ports we replace ourselves. A repair to a single chip or other component on a circuit board, or a drive that needs a clean-room laboratory, goes to a specialist only with your say-so, once we have told you who will do it and what it costs.
-
Everything you hand over, photographed and listed
Your device and everything with it is photographed with you there, written on your job ticket, and checked off with you when it comes back.
-
Your files stay private
We access only what the repair needs. Anything we copy for a recovery or a backup sits on our own encrypted drive and is erased within 30 days of your device coming back to you.
-
A 90-day guarantee on our repairs
If the fault we fixed returns within 90 days because of our work, we put it right at no charge, on top of your statutory rights.
-
A receipt for every payment, an invoice for every job
With our company details on it, and from 1 November 2026, the VAT shown. Card payments go through Stripe, and we never see your full card number.
-
Complaints answered, not argued
We acknowledge a complaint within three working days and give you a considered answer within fourteen. Your rights stay with you whatever we write.

FAQ
The questions people ask about it.
Why publish your own standards?
There is no licence for computer and phone repair, so we publish our own standards, and every one is written into our terms, on top of your rights in law. A promise you can check is worth more than one you cannot, and our terms are binding on us.
What if you do not meet one of them?
Tell us. We acknowledge a complaint within three working days and answer within fourteen, and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply whatever we write here, including what we say on this page.
Do you ever send a device to another workshop?
Only for work we cannot do ourselves. Soldered charging and HDMI ports we replace ourselves. A repair to a single chip or other component on a circuit board, or a drive that needs a clean-room laboratory, goes to a specialist only with your say-so, once we have told you who will do it and what it costs.
How we look after a device while it is with us is on how we look after your device, what happens if we cannot fix it is on No Fix, No Fee, and the full agreement is in our terms and conditions.
