Wi-Fi and home network help in Leeds
Poor Wi-Fi is rarely a mystery, and it is rarely the broadband. It is far more often where the router sits, what the walls are doing to the signal, a channel that everything nearby is fighting over, or an old extender quietly halving the speed of everything through it. We come to you, measure where the signal actually goes rather than guessing at it, and put it right. Sometimes the fix costs nothing and is a matter of where a box sits and what it is set to. Sometimes a far room honestly needs more kit to reach it, and if so you see the cost before anything is bought.
- No fix, no fee
- We come to you
- The diagnosis is always free
- A real person who does the work, not a call centre
Does this sound like yours?
The faults we see most
- The Wi-Fi is strong in one room and useless in another, so half the house cannot get on
- It drops out every evening, or several times a day, and comes back on its own
- The broadband is fine on a cable but slow or unreliable over Wi-Fi
- Video calls break up, streaming buffers, and it is worse the further you are from the router
- A new router or a new provider has arrived and you would rather not set it up wrong
- You have an extender or a mesh set that never quite worked, or made things worse
- Devices will not connect, keep asking for the password, or say connected but with no internet
- The far end of the house, the loft, the garden or the garden office has no signal at all
- A printer, a TV, a games console or a smart device will not join the network
- It has slowed to a crawl since more people or more devices started using it
Not on the list? Call anyway and describe it. The diagnosis is free either way.
What we do
Name the fault, then the fix, then the price
- Tell us on the phone where it is bad, when it drops, and what your setup is, so we arrive with a fair idea of what we are looking at
- We come to you across Leeds, at home or at a small office, because Wi-Fi can only honestly be judged in the building it has to cover, not on a bench
- We measure the signal room by room, where it is strong, where it falls away, and what the walls and floors are doing to it, rather than guessing from the router's own lights
- The router first: whether it is well placed or hidden in a cupboard by the front door, whether the channel it is on is jammed with every neighbour's network, and whether its settings are working with you or against you. A surprising amount of trouble is fixed here for nothing
- Dropouts: we work out whether the connection is dropping at the router, at the line, or only over Wi-Fi, because those are three different problems and only one of them is yours to fix. If it is the line or the provider, we will tell you and save you buying kit you do not need
- Mesh and extenders: we set them up properly so they actually help, and we are honest when an old extender is halving your speed and would be better gone. Where a house genuinely needs mesh to cover it, we place the units where they will do the most good
- New routers: we set a new one up from the box, carry your network name and password across so your devices reconnect on their own where possible, and make sure everything that was on the old one comes back
- Devices that will not connect: printers, TVs, consoles and smart devices onto the network and staying on it, rather than one fixed and three still dropping
- Then a straight recommendation, and one fixed quote before any work or any kit. If the honest answer is that your broadband package itself is the limit, we will tell you that rather than sell you boxes that cannot fix it
How long it takes
An honest answer, not a booking slot
A lot of Wi-Fi trouble is sorted inside the visit, because the fix is where a box sits and what it is set to, and that costs nothing but the time to measure and adjust it. Setting up a new router, or a mesh set, and getting all your devices reconnected is usually the same visit too. Where the honest answer is that a far room needs another access point or a mesh unit, or a cable run to reach it, we quote that before anything is bought and fit it once the kit is in hand, which can be a few days. Where the trouble turns out to be the line or the provider rather than your Wi-Fi, that is theirs to fix, and we will tell you so rather than charge you for it.
What it costs
The diagnosis is free, then you get a fixed quote
We do not publish a price list, because a price list for this work would be a fiction: the same fault costs different money on different machines. What we can do is tell you what moves the number, then give you one fixed quote before any work starts. If we cannot fix it, there is nothing to pay.
What drives the price
- Whether the fix is placement and settings, which is time, or genuinely needs kit such as a mesh unit or another access point
- How big and how awkward the space is to cover, since thick walls, chimney breasts and long thin houses are harder than open-plan
- Whether an old extender or router is the problem and is better replaced than fought with
- The kit itself, if any is genuinely needed, which you see and agree before it is ordered
- Whether a cable run is wanted to reach a far room or a garden office reliably, which is more work than a wireless fix
- How many devices have to be reconnected and set back up once the network is sorted

Questions
The things people ask
My Wi-Fi is fine downstairs but useless in the back bedroom. Can you fix it?
Usually, yes, and it is one of the most common things we are called out to. It is nearly always the router sitting in the wrong corner of the house, thick walls between it and the room that suffers, or a channel jammed with every neighbour's network. We measure where the signal really goes rather than guessing, and often the fix is free: a better spot for the router and a change of settings. Where a room genuinely cannot be reached that way, a mesh unit or an access point will do it, and you see that cost before anything is bought.
Is my slow Wi-Fi the broadband or the Wi-Fi?
Those are two different problems and it is worth knowing which you have before you spend anything. If it is fast on a cable straight into the router and slow only over Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi is the problem and that is ours to fix. If it is slow even on a cable, the trouble is the broadband line or your package, and no amount of new kit inside the house will change that. We test which it is, and if it turns out to be the line, we will tell you plainly rather than sell you boxes that cannot help.
Should I buy a Wi-Fi extender or a mesh system?
It depends on the house, and it is worth getting right because the wrong choice can make things worse. A cheap extender often halves the speed of everything that goes through it, and plenty of the trouble we are called to is an extender doing more harm than good. A proper mesh set, placed well, usually works far better for covering a whole house. We measure your place first and tell you honestly which one it needs, or whether moving the router you already have sorts it for nothing.
Can you set up a new router when my broadband provider sends one?
Yes. We set the new router up from the box, put your network name and password on it so your phones, laptops and smart devices reconnect on their own where they can, and check that everything that worked on the old one, the printers, the TVs, the consoles, comes back. Then we make sure it is placed and set up to give you the best coverage the house allows, rather than left on whatever it shipped with.
How much does it cost to sort my Wi-Fi?
We do not publish a figure, because moving a router and changing a setting is a very different job from fitting a mesh set or running a cable to a garden office. You get a free look, we measure where the signal actually goes, and then one fixed quote before any work or any kit. If the fix turns out to be free, a better spot and a setting, we will happily tell you that. If it needs kit, you see the cost and agree it before anything is ordered.
Is your work guaranteed after the repair?
Yes. We stand behind the repairs we carry out. If the same fault we fixed returns within a reasonable period as a result of our work, get in touch and we will put it right. That does not cover new or unrelated faults, accidental damage, liquid damage, or problems caused by other work carried out after ours, and nothing in it affects your statutory rights.
