Repairs
Tech support and setup in Leeds
This is the please just make it work service. You do not need to know what is wrong or what it is called. Tell us what you are trying to do and where it goes wrong, and we will come to you, sort it, and show you how it works so you are not stuck the next time. The look is free, you get one fixed quote before any work begins, and if we cannot help there is nothing to pay. No jargon, no call centre, and nobody made to feel slow.
- No fix, no fee
- We come to you
- The diagnosis is always free
- A real person who does the work, not a call centre
Does this sound like yours?
The faults we see most
- A new laptop, tablet or phone is out of the box and you would rather not press the wrong thing setting it up
- Everything you own is on the old computer and you need it safely on the new one before the old one goes
- Email has stopped arriving on your phone or your computer, or it keeps asking for a password you are sure is right
- You are locked out of an account and the reset messages are going to an address or a number you no longer use
- The printer worked yesterday, and today it sits there saying it is offline, or it prints everything except the thing you asked for
- The Wi-Fi is strong in one room and hopeless in another, or it drops every evening and nobody has ever explained why
- Photos, contacts and messages are on an old phone and you are frightened of losing them when you move to the new one
- Nothing is broken as such, it just will not do what you want, and you would like a patient person to sort it and show you
- You would rather understand it than be left dependent, so that next time you can manage it yourself
Not on the list? Call anyway and describe it. The diagnosis is free either way.
What we do
Name the fault, then the fix, then the price
- You tell us on the phone what you are trying to do and where it goes wrong, so we arrive with the right idea and the right kit
- We come to you across Leeds, at home or at work, and set things up where you actually use them, because a printer working on our bench is no use to you in your back bedroom
- New devices: we set the machine up from the box, sign you into your accounts, and put the apps and settings on it so it is ready to use rather than ready to configure
- Moving to a new machine: we carry your files, photos, email and contacts across from the old one and check they have all arrived, and we do not wipe anything from the old device until you have seen everything is there
- Email: we work out whether it is a password, a setting or the provider, and get it arriving again on every device you read it on, rather than fixing one and leaving the others broken
- Accounts and lock-outs: we go through the proper recovery with you, get you back in where it can be done, and set a recovery method you will still have access to next year
- Printers, scanners and Wi-Fi: we get the printer talking to the computer and the phone, and we look at where the router sits and what the walls are doing before anyone blames the broadband
- Backups: we set up something that copies your photos and files on its own, so a lost phone or a dead laptop is an annoyance and not a disaster, and we show you how to check it is still working
- We show you how it works before we leave, at your pace and without making you feel slow, and you get a fixed quote before any work begins
How long it takes
An honest answer, not a booking slot
Most setup and everyday support is done inside the visit, whether that is a new machine set up and signed in, a printer put right, or email put back together. Moving everything across from an old computer or phone takes as long as the amount of photos, files and email decides, and it is worth an unhurried hour or two rather than a rushed twenty minutes, because it is the one job you do not want to have to do twice. Anything that waits on an account recovery, a supplier, or a password held by somebody else takes as long as they take, and we will say so honestly when we look. You will know at the point we quote, not afterwards.
What it costs
The diagnosis is free, then you get a fixed quote
We do not publish a price list, because a price list for this work would be a fiction: the same fault costs different money on different machines. What we can do is tell you what moves the number, then give you one fixed quote before any work starts. If we cannot fix it, there is nothing to pay.
What drives the price
- How much there is to do, since putting one printer right is a short job and setting up a new machine with everything carried over is a longer one
- How much there is to move across, because a phone with years of photos on it is not the same as a nearly empty one
- Whether an account recovery or a supplier has to be worked through, which can add time that is nobody's fault
- How many devices are involved, since email or a new account often has to go on a phone, a tablet and a computer, not just one
- Whether the Wi-Fi trouble turns out to be a setting and a better spot for the router, or the building honestly needing more kit to reach the far room, in which case you see the cost first
- Whether you would like to be shown how it all works as we go, which we are glad to do and never rush

Questions
The things people ask
I am not very confident with technology. Will you make me feel silly?
No, and we would not have much of a service if we did. Plenty of the people we help would not call themselves technical, and that is exactly who this is for. We work at your pace, we explain things in plain words rather than jargon, and there is no question that is too small to ask. You are not the problem, the machine is.
Can you set up my new computer and move everything off the old one?
Yes. We set the new machine up from the box, sign you into your accounts, and carry your files, photos, email and contacts across from the old one. Then we check together that everything has arrived, and we do not wipe or hand back the old device until you have seen for yourself that nothing is missing.
My email has stopped working on my phone but it is fine on the computer. Can you fix that?
Yes. That is usually a password, a setting on the phone, or a change at the email provider, and the first job is finding out which. We get it arriving again on the phone, and we make sure it is set up the same way everywhere you read it, so you are not fixing one device and losing another.
I have been locked out of an account. Can you get me back in?
Often, yes. We go through the account's own proper recovery with you and get you signed back in where it can be done, then set a recovery email or number you will still have next year. We will be honest with you: if the recovery details are long gone, some accounts genuinely cannot be recovered, and we will never try to get round security in a way that puts you at risk.
Can you show me how to do it myself rather than just doing it and leaving?
Yes, gladly. Plenty of people would rather understand it than be left dependent on somebody. We are happy to walk you through it as we go, at whatever pace suits you, and to write the important bits down so you have them after we have left.
How much does it cost?
We do not publish a fixed rate, because a printer put right and a full new-device setup are not the same job. You get a free look, then one fixed quote before any work begins, so you decide with the real number in front of you. If we cannot help, there is nothing to pay.
Is your work guaranteed after the repair?
Yes. We stand behind the repairs we carry out. If the same fault we fixed returns within a reasonable period as a result of our work, get in touch and we will put it right. That does not cover new or unrelated faults, accidental damage, liquid damage, or problems caused by other work carried out after ours, and nothing in it affects your statutory rights.

An SSD, more memory, and a proper clean-up can make an old machine feel new. We measure what is actually holding yours back before you spend anything.
