Remote tech support in Leeds

A good number of the faults people ring us about do not need anybody at the door at all. If the problem is in the software, the settings or an account rather than in the machine itself, we can often sort it there and then over a secure link, while you sit and watch. Tell us what is happening and we will say honestly whether yours is one of those, or whether it genuinely needs us to come out. The look is free, you get one fixed quote before any work begins, and if we cannot fix it there is nothing to pay. Because a link reaches anywhere, we can help you whether you are in Leeds or not.

Does this sound like yours?

The faults we see most

Not on the list? Call anyway and describe it. The diagnosis is free either way.

What we do

Name the fault, then the fix, then the price

  1. You describe the fault on the phone first, so we can tell you plainly whether it is one we can fix down a link or one that needs hands on the machine. We would rather say that at the start than waste your time connecting to something we cannot help with remotely
  2. If it is suitable, we send you a one-time link to start the session. Nothing is left installed watching your machine afterwards, and the connection only exists for as long as the job takes
  3. You approve the connection at your end, you see everything we do on your own screen the whole time, and you can end the session with one click the moment you want to. We never ask for a password or a detail we do not need for the job in front of us
  4. Pop-ups and scare pages: many of these are a website pretending to be your computer rather than a real infection, and we can usually close it down over the link and check whether anything was actually left behind
  5. Setup, email, printers and Wi-Fi settings: we get the account connecting, the printer talking to the computer, or the setting put back, and we do it on the device you actually read your email or print from, not on a bench somewhere
  6. Speed-ups and troubleshooting: we look at what is genuinely starting with the machine and what is running while you do nothing, rather than running one cleaner and calling it done
  7. If partway in it turns out the fault needs a physical repair, we stop and say so honestly. There is no sense charging you for a remote session on a problem that was never going to be a remote fix
  8. You get one fixed quote before any work begins. If we cannot fix it over the link, we will tell you what it does need, and if we cannot help at all there is nothing to pay

How long it takes

An honest answer, not a booking slot

Most remote jobs are done inside the one session, and a fair number are shorter than the phone call that set them up. If we can connect soon after you ring, which we often can, the whole thing can be behind you the same hour. What we will not do is drag a session out or reconnect day after day on something that was never going to be fixed down a link. If it turns out the machine needs a physical repair, you will hear that quickly rather than after an afternoon of billed guessing, and if you are in Leeds we can arrange to come to you instead. You will know which it is at the point we quote, not afterwards.

What it costs

The diagnosis is free, then you get a fixed quote

We do not publish a price list, because a price list for this work would be a fiction: the same fault costs different money on different machines. What we can do is tell you what moves the number, then give you one fixed quote before any work starts. If we cannot fix it, there is nothing to pay.

Questions

The things people ask

Is it safe to let you connect to my computer?

You are in control from start to finish. The link is a one-time one that you approve at your end, you watch everything that happens on your own screen throughout, and you can end the session with a single click whenever you choose. Nothing stays behind watching the machine once we are done, and we will never ask you for a password or a detail we do not need for the job. It is worth saying that a stranger ringing you out of the blue and asking to connect is exactly the scam we get called out to clean up, so the difference here is simple: you rang us, and you stay in charge the whole time.

What can and cannot be fixed remotely?

If the fault is in the software, the settings or an account, there is a good chance we can sort it down the link: pop-ups and scare pages, a program that will not install or update, email that will not connect, a printer that has dropped offline, a Wi-Fi setting, a machine gone slow. What we cannot do over a link is anything physical, so a laptop that will not turn on, a cracked screen, a worn charging port, a spill or a failing drive all need us on the machine. If yours is one of those, we will say so on the phone rather than connect to a problem a link was never going to reach.

Do I have to be in Leeds for remote support?

No. A secure link reaches anywhere, so we can help you wherever you are. The one thing tied to Leeds is a physical visit: if the fault turns out to need us on the machine, we come to you across Leeds and the surrounding area, or you can get it to us. The remote help itself is not limited by where you live.

How quickly can you do it?

Often the same hour. If the fault is one we can fix down a link and we are able to connect soon after you call, it can be sorted while you are still on the phone with us. We will be straight about it when you ring: if we cannot get to it as fast as you need, we will tell you rather than leave you waiting on a session that is not coming.

What if it cannot be fixed over the link after all?

Then we say so plainly and tell you what it does need. If it turns out to be a physical fault and you are in Leeds, we arrange to come to you or to take the machine in. If we cannot help you at all, there is nothing to pay. We would far rather tell you early that a link is the wrong tool for your fault than charge you for finding that out slowly.

How much does remote support cost?

We do not publish a fixed rate, because closing a scare page and untangling a setup across three devices are not the same job. You get a free look, then one fixed quote before any work begins, so you are deciding with the real number in front of you. If we cannot fix it, there is nothing to pay.

Is your work guaranteed after the repair?

Yes. We stand behind the repairs we carry out. If the same fault we fixed returns within a reasonable period as a result of our work, get in touch and we will put it right. That does not cover new or unrelated faults, accidental damage, liquid damage, or problems caused by other work carried out after ours, and nothing in it affects your statutory rights.
