How it works

Credentials

Checkable, or it is not claimed.

There is no licence for computer repair. Anyone can print a van and a website, which is exactly why this page exists: here is what you can verify about us, and what we refuse to imply.

The ledger

Held, and checkable.

Where a claim can be verified we link straight to the source, and where it is experience we say so.

Entry 01 · Experience

The bench, before the business

Jordan Gilbert served an apprenticeship as a technician at PCI Computers Leeds, learning the trade from a mentor with more than twenty years in computer support in this city. That is experience rather than paper, and we say so plainly: it is where the fixed-price judgement and the repair-or-replace honesty on this site actually come from. Today he runs end-to-end service delivery, our technicians carry out most repairs, and he still takes jobs himself.

VerifyNothing to point at. Experience, stated as experience.

Entry 02 · Education

On paper, and where to check it

BSc (Hons) Architectural Engineering and Design Management, Loughborough University. An engineering degree: systems, tolerances, and why things fail.

The Architectural Imagination, HarvardX, Verified Certificate. An online course run on the edX platform. We name it exactly for a reason: it is a verified certificate, not a Harvard degree, and you can check the certificate itself in one click (opens edX in a new tab).

VerifyA Verified Certificate. Not a Harvard degree.

Entry 03 · The record

A registered company, on the record

JorTech is a trading name of TicketWave HQ Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. The registration number, registered office and the rest of the formal detail live on the about page, where you can follow them through to Companies House. A company on the public record has something to lose by treating you badly. That is rather the point of being one.

Entry 04 · In writing

Commitments that bind us, not badges

Some of the strongest things about this business are not credentials at all. They are terms we put in writing on every job: the diagnosis is free, you get one fixed price before any work, and if we cannot fix it you do not pay, with a 90-day guarantee on the same fault. A promise in your confirmation email is enforceable. A badge on a website is not.

VerifyIn your confirmation email. Enforceable.

If a business rounds its own credentials up, assume it rounds your quote up too.

End of the ledger. What comes next is what we will not say.

Entry 05 · In daylight

What we refuse to claim.

The absences on this page are deliberate. Each one is a decision, not an oversight.

  • Not claimed

Manufacturer authorisation. We are not an authorised service centre for Apple, Dell, HP or anyone else, and we will not imply it with logo walls.

  • Not published

Counts we cannot prove, reviews we wrote ourselves, and turnaround promises we cannot stand behind.

  • Instead

Where a repair would be better handled under a manufacturer's warranty, we tell you to go there first. Voiding your cover to win a job is not a trade we make.

A claim that ships with no way to check it is decoration, not a credential.

Judge us on a real job.

The diagnosis costs nothing, so the cheapest way to check any of this is to ask us to look at something.

The diagnosis is always free
