It depends entirely on the fault and on parts. A clean and repaste is quick. A board-level repair takes longer, because doing it properly is not something to rush. We will give you a realistic answer when we have looked, rather than a number now that we would only have to break.

Questions
The things people ask
My HDMI port is broken. Most places said they cannot do it.
That is the usual answer, because it is board-level work and it needs the right equipment and a steady hand. We do it. Bring us the console, or we will collect it, and you get a free diagnosis and a fixed price before anything is opened. If the damage has gone further than the port, which does happen when a cable is knocked hard, we will tell you that up front rather than start the job and find out halfway through.
My Joy-Cons drift. Can that be fixed?
Yes, and it is one of the most common jobs on a Switch. Drift is usually a worn stick module rather than anything deeper, so it is a repair rather than a replacement controller. The diagnosis is free, and you get the fixed price before we open anything.
It sounds like a jet engine. Is that worth fixing?
Usually yes, and it is one of the more satisfying jobs. Years of dust and dried-out thermal paste make a console work far harder than it needs to, which is what you are hearing. A proper strip, clean and repaste normally brings the noise and the heat back down. If the noise turns out to be a failing fan rather than dust, that is a part, and you will know the price before we fit it.
How much will it cost?
It depends on the fault and on your exact model, so we will not quote a number before we have looked. The diagnosis is free, then you get one fixed quote before any work starts, and if we cannot fix it you pay nothing.
Do you repair retro consoles?
Yes, and we would rather see them than not. Older hardware brings its own problems, mainly parts that are no longer made and capacitors that have aged out, so honesty matters more than usual here. We will tell you early if a console cannot sensibly be brought back, and there is no charge for that answer.
Do I have to bring it to you?
No. We come to you across Leeds and West Yorkshire, or we can collect the console and return it once it is done. There is no walk-in shop, and the diagnosis is free whichever way it reaches us.
Is your work guaranteed after the repair?
Yes. We stand behind the repairs we carry out. If the same fault we fixed returns as a result of our work, get in touch and we will put it right at no charge. Inside 90 days we do that without argument. Past 90 days we will still look at it on its merits, because a reasonable period for a fitted screen and a reasonable period for a fifteen-year-old desktop are not the same thing. This sits on top of your statutory rights, not instead of them, and those last longer. It does not cover new or unrelated faults, accidental damage, liquid damage, or problems caused by other work carried out after ours.
